So my brother's band just released a new album with almost all "melt your face off" rock and roll... but, this song (definitely an odd ball track) has been on repeat & can't get it out of my head. The CD rules and I'll be posting more about it soon (oh and click on the player to download the track). Check it out and let me know, "What local music are you vibin' on lately?"

So, I am not sure what to think of this or this, but... I know true or false-- God can use this song to touch the lives of people. Craziness. [Song is embedded below]

So here is an interesting deal... Clay NeSmith is a very friendly guy who pastors Barefoot Community Church in Myrtle Beach. He started a series and blog at ExposedPastor.com. It's here that he lives his life for four weeks completely live to anyone and everyone. Last night I sat in on the live chat and it was interesting to hear the questions asked/answered. It was mildly awkward when the salvation bracelet was being given away for a trivia answer (yeah, I know you guys want one of these, ha), but I'm not real sure what to think. Is it absolutely brilliant or a train wreck?! Not sure. You be the judge... I placed his live feed below for your viewing pleasure.

I love the discipleship group I'm in. There are three other dudes that I look up to and respect. We meet online every Wednesday and live & in person every other Saturday. It is such a great encouragement to me. If you aren't meeting regularly with someone or a group... it's time to start sucka.
Anyway, we read a book of the bible every two weeks in depth and talk about how God is speaking to us through the book. Here's part of today's reading:
"God tested us thoroughly to make sure we were qualified to be trusted with this Message. Be assured that when we speak to you we're not after crowd approval—only God approval. Since we've been put through that battery of tests, you're guaranteed that both we and the Message are free of error, mixed motives, or hidden agendas." 1 Thessalonians 2:3-4 MSG
Wow. I know I believed this, but reading it this morning challenged me even more. I am not doing this for any man. My life was given to God in the early 90's (to which I messed up quite a bit) and then my vocation was given to Him in 1997. I can't look to please the masses. Period. My audience and final say is a single being. God himself.
E'nuf said.

I am blogging today over at Forefront's Blog, so there's no sense in doin' double duty people. *wink wink*
So it's something nobody wants to talk about, but... it's reality. It affects over 35% of men and 23% of women. I've been cursed with it, but have learned to control it. Are you a part of "the club?"
I am blogging today over at Forefront's Blog, so there's no sense in doin' double duty people. I know this talks about Forefront people, but you're all family too *wink wink*
So it was about a month ago. A number of the staff were getting to the office as usual. Since my office is the first one in, I usually get in conversation as people get to work. But this day was different. Why? Well the day before our lead pastor and friend, Vince, announced the amazing work God had planned for him in Las Vegas.
As a staff we were proud and encouraged, yet sad to eventually lose a friend and close family. We talked about what the future looks like. How does Forefront look 5, 10, 15 years from now? We agreed that God has a plan and things are going to stay strong (I mean look at the reaction from everyone, Forefront is strong as a rock people, seriously). Then I said something that I wish wasn’t true…
“Guys, in this process Satan is going to look for every angle to attack the people and staff at Forefront.”
It’s True.
Believe it.
We’ve asked you guys to pray for the Cason’s and their family as they go from 0 kids to 3 kids, the Heilman’s as they look to God with Joe and his health, the Antonucci’s and other families as they head to Las Vegas and into an unknown world of ministry… but I bet the staff is not the only one’s to see trouble and pain creeping into their lives.
So it burdens my heart to know, “How can we pray for you?”
Nothing is more powerful than the power of people praying together and coming alongside each other with our suffering and hurting. So, let’s hear ‘em people.

So if you missed the Saddleback Civic Forum where Rick Warren hosted Barrack Obama and John McCain... you should check it out. Here is a link where you can view all the portions. Below is the first part with Barrack. What are your thoughts?

So Dave over at ChurchyMedia and I have been tossing around this idea of getting other creative minds together in the area (music, worship, arts, video/production, graphic design, sketch/drama, comedy, painting). Our goal is to see where the church is heading and how we can set trends in culture instead of copying them. Once we pondered this, it was clear.

So if you are free tonight around 7:30 EST and want to partake in a pretty cool worship gathering... Check out the Live Feed via the Buckhead Blog for Night or Worship. Looks to be pretty cool and if you're a church leader who doesn't get to "experience a gathering very often, why not tune in!?

So I posted this morning over at Forefront's Blog, a little bit about my story and how Forefront has changed the way my wife and I look at ministry, God, life, etc. So, question...
How has ministry changed your faith ideals & outlook about God?

I love the show LOST. Pretty much I have been going through withdrawal symptoms until this season comes (which is supposed to be the final season). Jack (one the left above) has this power struggle of trying to figure out what his level of leadership is. The entire group of survivors look to him for everything. It just comes natural. But most of the times Jack isn't ready to step up to the challenge.
How do you handle God's call to leadership? Do you accept it. Embrace it. Run from it. Jump from church to church? Hide in the secular world hoping God won't find you can convict you of your true calling?

The environment in which you work can really set the tone for what gets done, how it looks & what lines are being pushed to create/complete innovative & relevant projects. The church needs to grab hold of this idea and put some time/energy into creating spaces that spur on their staff to be creative.

Aside from the always expected, "You Mac fans need to quit your drooling over new stuff" comments that I am sure will come... The rumor mill seems to be growing about the Macbook Touch becoming a reality. [insert angels singing and trumpets sounding here]

Alltop just added a “modern church” category to their list and all sorts of awesome bloggers that I love to read are also on there. Alltop provides an quick way to follow the conversation on more than 100 topics (i.e. comics, business, politics, mixed martial arts, ADHD, you name it... it's there).
