New Kid on the Block

Albert Martin the lost New Kid?! No, but he is the next guy on the block to come out with a worship software that rivals Pro-Presenter in the Mac realm. Martin & Granger Community Church have released the first (after much beta testing) version of iWorship 1.0

It looks to give Renewed Vision a run for their money. Live video playback included and supports HD as well. I'm interested to see how it does in the long haul. I tested the beta copy and found it to run really smooth with no real issues. Check it out for yourself

    hmm...no scripture, no cross dissolves of video, no free video loops, no dvd book marking, no song automation (syncing to mp3s), no countdown timer, etc. Not going to give renewed vision a run for their money anytime soon. not for $499.

    I agree, they haven't packaged it well, but I am willing to give it time and see. I suspect that Renewed vision will try to compete the live video backdrop feature and include it in an update or upgrade.

    No cross dissolve of video is somewhat of a draw back. I really could care less however about scripture support or song automation or countdown timer. I buy my own video loops anyway because the ones bundled for free always don't quite cut it on a professional level.

    In my humble opinion the interface simplicity is well worth the cost of the program and some. New features aren't that great when you don't know how to use them ... or if the program is constantly crashing. I would much rather wait for the few features it doesn't have.

    Oh and you didn't mention .Mac Backup support, importing songs from Word documents, and live camera support just off the top of my head (all of which are highly useful in my opinion) ProPresenter didn't have DVD playback until after iWorship beta was out.

    So don't count iWorship out as even in it's current form it is a big leap over what PP offers. ProPresenter has a lot of catching up to do with the interface and no doubt we will be seeing them implementing some of iWorship's features within the next few months.

    Competition is good in my opinion. Keeps us away from a monopoly and keeps everyone constantly trying to look for new ways to innovate!

    Competition is great. That's why I greet iworship with a smile because it is going to cause other presentation softwares (media shout, easy worship, pro presenter, etc.) to up their game a create cutting edge programs for presenting in a corporate setting.
