So I am a HUGE fan of Death Cab for Cutie and Benjamin Gibbard's work (American Analog Set, All-Time Quarterback, Postal Service), but I have had a lover affair with a song he did with Styrofoam (which I love) for awhile now. It's called, "Couches in Alleys."

Reason being is two fold:
1. I love the composition and lyrical trail, and
2. I have been racking my brains on how to do a video for one of our services in the Fall with this and have hit a brick wall.

SO HERE IS WHERE YOU PEEPS COME IN. YEAH!

I am looking for ideas or for video submissions on how to communicate the truth I am thinking with this song. When I listen I hear two friends having a dialogue or lack thereof and the friend in the driver's seat is trying to talk about the issues his friend is having. But he fears that when the car ride is over nothing will have changed. The issues he wants to discuss are like couches left in alleys that no one ever claims and get rained on and tattered and eventually we have to pick up the remains of what we left.

This could be an amazing video for new churches launching or a new series where people push to invite friends. Let's put our heads together and get this thing moving. I've included a video someone made for it as well as a live performance with Styrofoam featuring Ben. Enjoy!
