So if you missed the Saddleback Civic Forum where Rick Warren hosted Barrack Obama and John McCain... you should check it out. Here is a link where you can view all the portions. Below is the first part with Barrack. What are your thoughts?

First, Rick Warren is a brave man. He (and his church) knew they were going to get blasted from right and left for doing this. He did a great job, and I loved the fact that the FOX commentators, after the event, said that this was the "best" format for a political discussion/debate they'd ever seen. I was thinking the same thing.

IMO (I haven't even bothered listening to or reading what everyone else thinks about this), both candidates did well. McCain looked a little too serious and stiff at times, as usual...Obama looked a little unsure as to what to say at times, as usual.

I did think that Obama's response to the abortion issue was horrible. He gave a bad stat (abortions ARE down), stated that the answer to the question was above his pay-grade (ummm?), and made it sound like most abortions are being performed on middle-aged, church-going, married women with loving parents, which is not true.

McCain started very slow, but I was surprised at how well he finished, especially on the social issues.
