My father-in-law took us out to a Golden Corral breakfast this morning. (insert Homer Simpson voice for the following) MMMmmmmm. It was so good.

Now the only problem is getting through the rest of the day after eating a filling breakfast. I never eat breakfast. I know, I know- I should eat it. But I don't need you guys & gals telling me that. I already got a mom.

What it did make me think of is this: I want to start some family traditions. Something we as a family can do together that my daughter will remember.

What are some things you remember doing as a family that you just loved? Let me know peeps.

We just started doing this thing on Fridays called "Family Fun Night." We haven't been super regular with it, but we're getting there. We let the kids pick out a "theme," and we plan the evening around it.

The last one we did was "Rock Out" night. We cranked up some AC/DC, the girls got their best rock star outfits on, we taught them how to head bang, and we did some temp tatoos. It was pretty darn hilarious. And my three year old has walked around for nearly two weeks with a "tramp stamp" on her lower back (am I allowed to say that?).

growing up the only traditions we had were fighting, drinking and abuse. now, however, we've done things like sat. am breakfast at a local diner we liked, thurs. nights at Plaza Azteca (S. Plaza/Holland is the best!, Skins Beach Blitz every year, always celebrating things like my son's touchdowns, homeruns, honor roll for the year, special awards in school like citizenship, etc...

But it doesn't sound as fun as Rock Out night, I want to do that!

We went blueberry picking each summer and I loved it. I liked eating them while picking..and then my mom would freeze a ton and use them for yummy goodness throughout the year. But I lived out in the country so I am not sure how many fruit picking patches they have around here. :-)

And you know what..I have never actually been to Golden Corral..even though we live within walking distance to one.
