James Davis and I were talking about a new series they are doing with Cardia (ms/hs gathering). It's based on songs and this week is the kick off with "You Found Me" by The Fray. We talked a bit about a different take on the song.

Here's a piece of his post, view the entire thing here.

"In the chorus I had always thought it was the singer who was saying 'Lost and insecure, You Found Me...Lying on the floor...' but I think it may actually be God saying that to the singer. It's like he's saying, 'You were lost and insecure, and that' when you found me...you were on lying on the floor, having hit rock bottom - remember that? Then you found me.' "

The song ends up more like a conversation between us and God. When looking at it through that lens, it becomes an interesting take on something that is getting huge play in the media and possibly a good conversation piece with unchurched friends who might take a listen to them... (though I should note, they aren't really my thing, but my wife loves 'em).

I liked the cardboard life change idea. I preached a sermon where I used those and talked about our identity in God... but using people live or in video format would be cool to. Thnx Nate.

Hope all is well with you and the family in Nags Head.
