Mommy Surprise from Jason Bedell on Vimeo.

Fridays are Daughter/Daddy day and we always do something fun together. Last Friday we came home early to surprise mom. We're total rockstars if you couldn't tell!

That boy doesn't know whose daughter he's messin' with!? Grrrrrrr!

I was making Chloe laugh while goofing around off camera. I apparently pushed my luck and brought on the tears. Whoops.

than being a Dad. She's precious.

So my precious little girl wasn't too happy when I came home. She was fed, changed, burped, in her swing, the bassinet, her Boppy pillow and after all that she wanted to let the world know her pain...

Being a dad is awesome, even with the crying.

I got a call from one of our key leadership guys (Richie) the other day asking me for a favor. He said a couple had just lost their baby after one month and would like for me to edit a video for the funeral. With Carrie and I having lost a child our hearts break for this sort of thing, so I compeltely agreed.

The mother came in today, gave me the pictures, gave me the music, and we just talked about what they would like. During the conversation she looked at my desk and saw a picture of my one month old daughter Chloe. She asked her name and birthday... when I told her it hit me (as she teared up) "My daugther is one day younger than her daughter Grace. That could have been Chloe."

I am not the answer man by any stretch, so I was speechless as to what to say to this mother other than "I will put everything into this video to commemorate your daughter's life and the ones she touched." She smiled, hugged me tight, and thanked me for not even knowing her or her family and doing this for them.

Sometimes God shows up in ways we never would have thought. Today He showed up in the form of a broken mother who needed help. I am thankful God has put me here. He is bringing this family healing and I'm humbled by His trust in His church here to help them.

When it comes to Father’s Day. Our daughter Chloe was born a couple weeks ago and this is the first time I can truly celebrate father’s day. It’s quite possibly one of the coolest things I have ever experienced. Being able to spend the day with my daughter and wife is super cool and I wouldn’t trade them for anything. Being a dad is awesome!

So it seems as though my daughter Chloe is already trying to find herself. Classic.

And it's heading right for us. My wife's Dr. gave us the, "If your baby hasn't come by the 31st, call the hospital and let's get her into this world," talk.

Wow.

We have no clue what we are doing, but God has been on our speed dial everyday. Pray that every goes well with the delivery and that we can raise her up with God first.

So we started looking around for ideas a few weeks ago and settled on doing a complete rainforest theme in the nursery. I started drafting up a mural concept that I think is going to be awesome... we also found some stuff from fisher-price that matches. Check it out:
