I'm going to be a daddy. Estimated due date is June 4th. My wife and are are very excited and it was definitely a HUGE thing to be thankful for this holiday.

So my brother's band "Destroying John Bolshevic" was in the Link 757 newspaper (sub publication of the Virginia Pilot) and it was a pretty good article, which took up almost the whole page. One of his songs will be released on a video for Vince Antonucci's book, "I Became A Christian And All I Got Was This Lousy T-shirt" due out early Feb '08. If you want to check out a rough go at the video with the track, I embedded the video after the article. Here is a link to his band: http://www.myspace.com/destroyingjohnbolshevic

Oh, big announcement for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Stay tuned.

So I purchased the Flip Video Ultra today. I'm pretty sure I just fell in love. This might turn into a video blog pretty quick.

So I was at our Tuesday night service and it was definitely an interesting experience. As I listened to our lead pastor tell a bar full of a mixed crowd of believers and unbelievers that they can make a difference and change someone's story and serve... I hear conversations to either side of me (but good conversations).

To my right, a woman who is on the campus team is talking with a young man right outside the bar and I hear the discussion going to God and faith and how he was never really accepted and is late getting back home, but would love a Bible. She hands him a Bible and his face glows brighter than fireworks on the 4th of July.

To my left I watch as the campus pastor talks with a guy who looks like life definitely hasn't given him a fair go. They talk for 3/4 of the message time, but it was awesome to see his face after he talked with Joe.

Just good stuff. It's a great feeling when God blesses something in the church you're a part of (I still can't believe he let's me be a part of it all, so cool).

Figured with everything going on as we launched the two new campuses... you'd like to see the set-up at Chesapeake Campus. Here are some pics from set-up in the main worship area:

Coming soon. I've got a lot going on today, but I am going to catch up on here soon. I promise gang.

This is it! Check your christmas shopping list and I'm sure I'm on it and this is what I need.

So I am going to buy a new digital camera, but it has to be super small and tons of mega pixels. (listen closely and you might be able to hear me crying for help)

I wish to the Lord above I was kidding about this, but it's true. Check it out at:

to make two Mark Driscoll posts in the same day, but I was talking to a friend about this and told him I would post the link. If you've been hiding in a cave, then here ya go: While at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Mark Driscoll stood up to speak on Sept. 21st and decided God laid something on his heart and said all this instead (right click the link below and 'save as' to get the mp3 of the message or you mac users know what to do).

I won't broadcast my stance on whose side I take, but it's definitely interesting listening. Check it out and drop your thoughts here.

So I've been reading quite a bit in Zach Lind's Blog (drummer for Jimmy Eat World, which is one of my favorite bands). He was interviewed by Collide Magazine and it was a very interesting article.

Check it out here

While watching this I thought... "Matt Foley from SNL."

So I got up this morning and decided to check out an old dive that recently changed ownership. It used to be "Java Junction" and I knew the owner pretty well, helped decorate, had some of my artwork up, spent quite a bit of time there. Playing music, watching bands, doing Bible studies, small groups, etc.

But now it's "The Broken Egg." A breakfast and lunch place that seems to be thriving compared to it's previous JJ state of being. The difference... the previous owner, a Christian and the new owner, in it for business.

I've watched numerous Christian endeavors fail for a number of reasons (too nice, just a 'ministry', kind of a side job, not enough killer instinct, and the list goes on). I think sometimes the church and Christ-followers can create great environments where people feel comfortable, but when it comes down to brass tax... they can't make it stick because they think too much like Christians and not enough like the world.

Now I know that might sound a little strange and first glance, but if we get inside the world's head more, if JJ had jumped in the world's head more... there would be HUGE differences. I'm pretty sure we can learn a little bit from this. Take away what you will, but I know I'm gonna think a little more like The Broken Egg.
