So we decided to do a series based off of the whole Web 2.0 deal. People trying to find comminuty and connections in all the wrong places... instead of trying to find it in Christ and with people who share & do life together.

So the series is here and starts this week. A micro-site was created to go along with it.

Check it out here.

HELP! In October we went from one campus to three campuses. Our current line up is two sunday campuses in high schools and tuesday nights in a local pub. We began filming the pub message and our new sunday campus was video venue. We now have live preaching, film in the studio (my office) pictured above on Wednesdays and then show that video to one sunday campus and the other is the same live preacher again from tuesday night.

It's become pretty messy. We stopped filming at the pub because of lighting issues, but we are trying to figure out a plan to relieve the teaching pastor of the week from having to preach 112 times every day of the week. We've tossed around going back to filming at the pub if we could get the video right...

Ideas welcome (hint, hint)

So how do you keep it together? iGoogle, iCal, Mail, Google Docs, Txt Reminders, and the list goes on. I have TONS of stuff that I use to keep me informed and our Creative Arts Ministry together, but sometimes it still gets by me. We use Google Docs to keep our team informed about what is going on for the services, but how to you keep "your" team in mind, organized and getting new volunteers in each team. With all the tech out there... I've resolved to using post-it notes (I used the blue ones to mark spots where we really need to grow and up the volunteer base).

The glass block wall in my office is now a smorgasbord of pastel color sweetness. Thank God for flow charts. Now that you're inspired... get post-it crazy!

So I have an HP Desktop at Work and a Macbook at home. The HP runs Windows XP Home and the Mac runs Leopard. I wanted to connect to them via remote desktop to see and use files, but that would mean installing Windows XP Pro on the HP... or does it?!?

Stumbled on
Log Me In.com, it's a desktop sharing client that you can use (for free). You can sign-up for other services including (audio share, drag and drop, etc), but I use ftp and I can send files directly anyways, but it's nice to access the computer from home when I need a file that's at the church office computer. So far, I love it and it makes life much easier. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Music I've been digging into the past few weeks.
A little soft, a little hard, but all of it something to check out.
  • "Sleep Through The Static" by Jack Johnson (slower than normal, but it's a great record)
  • "The Final Curtain" by Further Seems Forever (live final show as a band, DVD comes with disc version)
  • "Made of Bricks" by Kate Nash (currently #1 in England, great vibe)
  • "I'm Only A Man" by Emery (get deluxe edition @ store with DVD and acoustic tracks)
  • "Fall & Winter EP's 1 and 2" by Jon Foreman (lead singer of Switchfoot, look for Spring and Summer later in the year)

Okay, so I really can't wait until this conference comes around (and I'm not just saying that because our lead pastor is speaking, even though that's a bonus). But, it is just such a refreshing idea about not wasting time and just "getting to the point" and relaying that "one idea." Ben Arment has put a ton of time and energy into the conference with all the sponsors and I am blown away by the line-up of church planting leaders who are going to be there.

Been talking here and there with Dave over at ChurchyMedia and he's got a sweet gig doing all of the video stuff for the conference and the word on the street is there might be a DVD version of the conference for you cheap skates who miss out. I suggest hopping on the band wagon though... and registering today (since it's only $99 and if ya live in VA you can just drive up and back with no hotel stay. sweet!). So it's only a few days away and I am very pumped about the Launch Conference coming up (which is a conference done by Student Ministries of Virginia or 'SMOV'). The theme for the weekend is "Revolution" and during the sessions I'll be talking about how being wrecked, renewed and real can effect our lives and ultimately the revolution of the church in society. Pretty amped. If you happen to be in the Charlottesville, VA area this weekend... give me a shout. Check out the lead in video I did for each of the talks (the last word will change each session):

We just started a series, LOST... and we figured we'd have a little fun with last season's finale. Here ya go! Enjoy.

So I've been surfing youtube uncontrollably since I came back from New York in December. Everywhere I turned I saw people advertising their youtube sights and I came across these guys while surfing: "Tony & Paul."

I am thrilled with this kind of stuff. Call it geeky, silly, strange... but these guys have something amazing with the video. Patience, timing, dedication. They put out a very cool idea that I am definitely going to copy and you should look to using this kind of stuff too. It rules.

Check it out, leave your thoughts:
